Group Facilitator (Female*) Domestic Abuse
Salary: Salary scale £10,400 -£11,600 pa inclusive of OLW for 2 days (15 hours)
Hours: 15 hours per week
Duration: March 31st 2023 with possibility of extension
Location: The post will be based at EACH Ealing. Remote working may be necessary and will be required to work from any of EACH’s locations.
EACH is a growing charity providing specialist services to individuals and families primarily from BAME communities affected by mental health, domestic violence and alcohol and substance misuse issues. Our success is through a diverse staff and volunteer team, who are
passionate and committed to meeting the needs of our local communities. We provide counselling, psycho-education, recovery and aftercare support (e.g. floating support, peer led initiatives, employment coaching) in a range of languages to empower people to become
healthier and more independent.
This role sits within a new domestic abuse service focussed on recovery and aftercare. The service offers wraparound support to female survivors of domestic violence who are in safe accommodation, including specialist support for women with multiple needs and those from
Black and Minority Ethnic (BAME) backgrounds. Through the project, clients are able to access individual counselling as well as a programme of 1-2-1 and groupwork support
1. To organise and implement group support to women who have experienced domestic abuse and are now in safe accommodation.
2. Develop content specific groups (confidence, personal change and growth, peer support psychoeducational, recovery based, CBT, motivational, ETE ) related specific to service user needs.
3. To access and engage women who would benefit from recovery from domestic abuse related groups through promotion and partnership working including GPs, health and social care professionals.
4. Hold a small case-load of clients, providing a range of therapeutic interventions.
You will need:
• Experience of counselling women affected by domestic abuse in a culturally sensitive
framework.
